Just a few tib bits I wanted to share about Father and Jesus.
Hebrews 1:3-4 “[Jesus] is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature, and He upholds the universe by the word of His power. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name He has inherited is more excellent than theirs.”
Just declare that. It’s so good. This Jesus. The radiance of God’s glory. The exact imprint of God’s nature. The One described in Revelation with eyes like flames of fire, hair white as wool, with feet like burnished bronze, voice like rushing waters, His face shines like the sun shining in full strength. The ones that the elders lay their crowns before. The One that causes all of Heaven to cry “Holy. Worthy is the Lamb who was slain. Worthy is He to receive power, wealth, wisdom, might, honor, glory and blessing.” The One the elders cannot stop worshipping and falling down at His feet. The One who is the only one found worthy to open the scrolls and triumphed over sin and death, Hades. Everything is sustained by the word of His power. Everything was created by Him and through Him all things have being. By His word everything was made. The same voice that speaks to us. The One who is coming back for His bride. The One who left everything, to take on human form, to pull me and you out of death to a living Hope, to Life, to have eternal life with Him. To be forgiven. To be reconciled. The One who came all for the sake of me and you. Who died for my sins and was raised up for my justification so that I may be the Righteousness of God. Then the One that went home and sat on His throne at the right hand of the Father. The One who establishes His government in the earth. Establishing His rule and dominion all across the earth. The One who is coming back for His Bride and forever we will be face to face with Him. JESUS….
Good stuff. So, that wasn’t my main thing I wanted to share, but just a side note. Something that is good to start with- seeing Him rightly and seeing who He is. Set your eyes on Him before reading further.
Ok, so now that our eyes are on God lets read a little further in Hebrews 1.
Heb 1:3 “For to which of the angels did God ever say, ‘You are my son, today I have begotten You’? or again, ‘I will be to Him a father, and He shall be to me a Son’?”
When I read that several days ago, Holy Spirit spoke to me: “That’s intimate language”. Friends, Daddy doesn’t just call anyone His son or daughter. The language Daddy uses to talk to the Son is not the same as the language that Daddy uses toward the angels. “For to which of the angels did God ever say ‘You are my son….I will be to Him a father…” Not to any of the myriads of myriads of angels do they ever hear those words toward them. This is intimate language. To be called a son or daughter is intimate language. Daddy doesn’t use this language flippantly. But guess what? This is how Daddy talks to us! He says to us “You are my son (daughter), today I have begotten you..I will be to him (her) a father, and he (she) shall be to me a son (daughter). We have that intimate relationship with God.
1 John 3:1 “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.”
We are sons and daughter of the living God. Period. We get to go to such an intimate place with Daddy that the angels will never be able to go. This is our place.
Here’s the love the Father has for us:
1 Peter 1:3-5 “Blessed be the God and FAther of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
Jesus even says in the gospels that He no longer calls us servants but friends. A master doesn’t talk to a servant the same way that a friend talks to a friend. Again, there is a language change between us and God. Between us and Jesus.
1 Peter 1:20-21 “[Jesus] was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.”
Did you catch that? I didn’t until last week… Jesus was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but was made manifest. PAUSE.
He was made manifest. He took human form. He left His throne and everything He called home to come dwell with broken, sinful man. John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” and Heb 2:14-16 “Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, He himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death He might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery. For surely it is not angels that He helps, but He helps the offspring of Abraham.”
Now to keep going….
“…in the last times for the sake of you.”…..For the sake of YOU…that small phrase caught me last week. He came to the earth and manifested Himself for MY SAKE…ah, man. This is Jesus. He came for MY SAKE. My life was on the line. My destiny and my heart was in shambles. He came for MY SAKE to restore and reconcile.
Then later in 1 Peter 2:9 we are called “a people for His own possession”.
Thank You Jesus. Forever we will praise Him and cry Worthy!
The last thing and this I will leave you with. Straight from the Word.
Is 43:1-3 “But now thus says the LORD, He who created you, O Jacob, He who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.”
