We had our spiritual life conference this week. The conference ended last night. But what the Lord has done and is doing is just beginning, it never ends.
During the lunch session yesterday, before P. Les Beauchamp started preaching. I was skimming through Jeremiah trying to find a verse i saw earlier that day. But the Lord led me to find another verse that just hit me hard. After i found this verse, i couldnt even remember the verse i had went to find nor can i even still remember what it was now. lol
This is what it was: Jeremiah 23:28-29
“…but let the one who has my word speak it faithfully. For what has straw to do with grain? declares the Lord. Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces.?”
Wow! He word is like FIRE!
Not only is it the Word He speaks over us, or the Word he speaks through us to other people, but its all the Word of God- the Bible. When we are proclaiming the Word, its like fire. When we are speaking a Word to someone its like a fire. Thats powerful!
Last night we worshipped with the song “Majesty”. In the song it says “sanctified by Glory and Fire” I thought about the verse in the Bible that says we are Sanctified by the Word. “Is not my Word like FIRE”
So when we are breathing in and eating the Word, its that fire that burns unrighteousness. Its that fire the burns sin. Impurities. ect. It sactifies us, consecrates us, and purifies us.
Also, I read it to a friend before the night service last night and after i read it, i heard the Worship team practicing “Mighty to Save”.
“And like a hammer that breaks rocks to pieces.”
Its like when there is this rock in our way and we stumble we just declare the Word of the Lord and it breaks. Or we see it coming [mayb its temptation, or the enemy taunting us] We declare the Word and it breaks and we can just step right over it.
Then as i was saying all this just a few minutes ago and just thinking about all this. I got to thinking “how do we get that fire?” Its not just going to happen. You have to be in the Word, in prayer and intercession, in fasting, in worship, in even listening to the Lord. Constantly. Day to Day. That stirs up a fire in you.
Then i got to thinking. “When am i on fire the most?”. It is when i am consistently in the Word, in prayer/intercession, worship, listening. Because like i just said it stirs that fire withing your Spirit. This is why we need to be grounded in the Word.
Then i thought “When am i not on fire the most?”. When i miss a day of reading the Word. Or relax and slack off and become complacent. Those night when i say a lil prayer and then tell God i’m tired and go to sleep.
As i was thinking all this through, trying to remember all this and start writing. I remembered a time at DHOP where i felt the Lord saying to me “Kindle the Fire”. I didnt quite know what i meant. I mean just factually i knew what it meant- Kindle the Fire. Ok. But i went home and was just asking the Lord how? How do i kindle the fire? What does it exactly mean? What do i have to do? Today its like [finally lol] I got my answer. When you are in the Word and it stirs that fire in you. It cultivates it. It kindles that fire.
Its like a fire in a fireplace or when you go camping. You have to take that stick thing [lol] and poke the fire and move the coal [or wood if your camping] to kindle that fire and to keep it going. Thats like what being consistently in the Word and in prayer/intercession seeking the face of God. It pokes that fire in you and makes it bigger and bigger and it’ll consume you. A fire in the fireplace or camping. If you dont keep poking the fire or adding more wood. The fire just goes down till it eventally….goes out. Thats what happens when your not consistently EVERDAY in the Word. The fire just goes out.
We need to maintain the fire. It’ that fire in you and me that will catch a lost generation, a dead generation, searching generation. How do you catch a city on fire, a school on fire, or even a Church on fire? You be on fire. Which comes through the poking of the Word, prayer/intercession, seeking God’s face and His heart, Worship, and even listening. Which is an importance of spiritual authority, accountability, and community. It keeps you surrounded by the Word and fire. It pushes you further into it and points you in the direction of Jesus. Also, if i’m not on fire but another person is then what it going on in them will explode in my spirit and whats going on in me will explode in them. So when i meet someone else, what is going on in me will explode on them in their Spirit and whats goin on in them will explode in my Spirit. Ect. We just continue to go further and deeper.
